The Bobkat 86x fibreglass catamaran range provides optimal stability and low hull resistance. Hydro-supportive Foil Technology assures superior maneuverability and directional stability. The unique tunnel steps create a two phase medium of water and air, dampening vertical accellerations, while the sponson configuration assures banking to the inside during turns. These unique features, combined with correct weight distribution and bow design allows for non-broaching in the heaviest of following seas. Developed for paramilitary applications worldwide, the Bobkat 8660 is a favorite, developed for maritime operations that demand the maximum from a work boat. The Bobkat 8660 is ideally suited to air/sea rescue, offshore environmental and territorial protection, as well as coastal policing.
This innovative catamaran design results in a versatile and economical high speed craft capable of exceptional stability, sea keeping qualities and maneuvering under the most demanding conditions. The Outboard Engines permit speeds in the 32 to 35 knot range in conditions up to sea state five. Diesel Inboards are an equally viable option. All patented Bobkat hull designs undergo stringent tests in controlled laboratory conditions, resulting in a unique configuration that outdoes all comparable designs even in the most demanding sea-keeping conditions.
The spacious 10m2 level aft deck allows ample working space. The helm is optionally fitted with full instrumentation: state of the art Navigation Systems, Radar, Depth Counter and 29 meg and/or VHF Radio Equipment.
