The BOBKAT 22M PATROL is a versatile and the ideal paramilitary or air/sea rescue craft. This superfast craft is capable of 55 knots with specialised configuration.

Enviromental Conditions

The craft is a high speed/high performance boat of proven design for operation in tropical waters with the following maximum weather conditions:

  • Air Temperature: 45 degrees centigrade
  • Sea Conditions: Up to sea state 8
  • Sea Water Temperature: 35° centigrade
  • Relative Humidity: up to 90%

Due consideration shall be taken that the boat may experience vertical acceleration at high speed during which g-forces of up to 5 may be experienced for short periods.

Mechanical

  • Bilge pumps and deck & fire pumps shall be fitted.
  • A fixed hydrofoil system shall be fitted

Electrical

The following equipment shall be provided:

  • 1 x 15 kVA genset providing 220VAC 1 ph output.
  • A 24 VDC power supply via 270 Amp/hr batteries shall be provided.
  • A main electrical switchboard (incorporating the navigation light panel) shall be fitted in the wheelhouse.
  • A shore supply connection shall be provided.
  • An air conditioning unit to supply the wheelhouse and accommodation/galley shall be provided.

Training

An operator training course (in English) for 5 crew members during a period of 3 weeks shall be arranged in Cape Town.

A maintainers training course (in English) for 3 technicians during a period of 3 weeks shall be arranged in Cape Town.

The cost of travel and accommodation is excluded from this offer

Weapon Hard Points

Hard points shall be provided forward of the main cabin and on the after deck to cater for a maximum of 20mm GA1 cannon (as supplied by Denel Vektor). In addition provision can be made for 7.62mm machine guns as well as 40mm grenade launchers. The weapons and mountings are not included in this offer and will be subject to an export license being approved for an end-user client. Application for the export license will be made after a contract is awarded.

Safety Equipment

The following minimum safety equipment shall be fitted:

  • 12 man inflatable life raft
  • 15 life jackets
  • 6 Life Buoys
  • Signal Flares
  • Fire Fighting: A remote controlled manual release CO2 engine room fire fighting system plus bulkhead mounted 4 kg CO2 cylinders in the wheelhouse and accommodation.
  • Fire detectors

Accommodation

The following shall be provided:
  • 12 bunks
  • 12 lockers
  • A galley complete with micro wave oven, refrigerator, wash basin and crockery.
  • Mess deck table with bunks and victual store.
  • 2x toilets complete with handwash basin and shower
  • 1 x Equipment locker on upper deck

Upper Deck

The following upper deck equipment will be fitted:

  • A 4,2m Rigid Hull Inflatable boat plus its cradle stowage & 1 x 75 hp Yamaha outboard
  • Davits
  • 30 kg Danforth anchor, chain and hawser
  • Electric anchor winch
  • Inflatable fenders
  • Boathooks and mooring ropes

Documentation

The following minimum documentation shall be supplied: (in English)

  • A full set of as-built drawings
  • 3 sets of operations manuals
  • 3 sets of maintenance manuals
  • Spare Parts Catalogue
  • Sea Trials Report

Service & Spares

A proposal for a two-year service contract, to provide maintenance/repair assistance for mechanical, electrical and electronic systems on board, shall be submitted after delivery of the first vessel. Once the equipment configuration is finalised, a spares part proposal for a 2-year supply of on board spares shall be submitted.
